He thought he was creepy but also charismatic. When the Jonestown thing happened Dad was not shocked. A women I worked with was in his cult but got out before Guyana.

and I remember paratroopers having to jump in to survey the damage.

Bodies were stacked up at Dover Air Force Base and unfortunately a lot of funeral homes would not take the bodies.

Just like the orange maggot supporters. In The SF Chronicle article today they wrote about a supporter of the maggot who rushed in to save his maga banner and hat while his house burned down. He waved that flag when the maggots motorcade drove though Chico. What a dumb ass sob. He doesn’t realize FEMA will not be there for him after the fire gets replaced in the news cycle. He is totally screwed. And the insurance companies will screw him over because they can get his administration to deny claims with no legal recourse. He will be royally screwed over.

It still horrifies me. Every once in a while, someone shows up who is pure evil. Jones was one of those.

I was not quite a teen when the horrific incidents in Guayana went down. Gave (and still gives!) me nightmares.

He was locking horns with the cult enforcers as a rebellious kid, before even going to Jonestown. He's been mostly quiet on the subject for years, and only started opening up lately.

Here's a decent recount of his story after the shooting began:
