The republicans and comrade Putin love seeing us beat ourselves up. Fox news, Politico, and, The Hill, are doing their best too.

(9,863 posts)When has a party ever taken control of the House without at least some jockeying for Speaker and leadership roles? Sure, if it gets to the point that a Republican can be elected Speaker because Democrats can't get their act together you can point fingers and assess blame. But I look at what is happening now as completely normal and something that most reasonable people should have expected. They will sort if out.

(11,804 posts)democracy leads to, well, discussion debate and occasionally a different person being picked than what you expect. Railing against dividers seems much more fun than sitting back and watching democracy work itself out (while calling / e-mail out candidate to support what you favor of course).

(12,264 posts)They started to implode when the tea party got elected and threatened to take their toys and go home, primary anyone who disagreed with them, and stop all legislation unless everyone agreed with them. We don't want to go down that path.

(6,709 posts)and will push to raise taxes (on the rich, obviously) in order to fund the things Americans actually want. And yes I know it can't happen now because it requires both houses and a signature from preznit ignatz, but it sure as eff would give our base and independents and anybody reachable something to vote for.
Peace would be good too--does anybody remember that concept?

(10,260 posts)Vote Hillary Clinton to the Speakership.
Pelosi can run the day to day, and teach the next generation how heads get counted; let Hillary be a figurehead.
A republican fear-and-rage-tweet-inducing figurehead Hahahahhahaha
Because if Pence so much as forgot to ask Mother for permission to go to the bathroom one day in 1992, the entire Republican party will collectively shit themselves at the possibility that they might have to go ahead and help us impeach their own ticket. As far as I'm concerned, we should press our advantage. I for one am sick of watching them get off light for their crimes against their own government, aren't you?
