(11,246 posts)Its 1.54 a gallon in the commodity market. Retailers usually add 60 cents so it should be no more than 2,14 at the pump right now.

(14,565 posts)I always check that relationship. Prices have fallen so the pumps have yet to catch up. Fast to rise, slow to fall.
I will be in Melbourne FL on Wednesday where the price is in the $2.15 range. I always pay attention to what areas trend high and which ones trend low.
Also, since the prices are dropping it is normally not wise to fill up, if you don't mind pumping again in a few days or so. The pump price will continue to drop so each day you wait it will likely drop some more.

First time I've seen that. Most of the year it has been 30-50 cents above same date in 2017. National number is within 6 cents of same point in 2017.
But I'm hardly rejoicing. I'd take a rising stock market and rising gas prices above plummeting market and plummeting gas prices.
