DEC 3 at 7PM ET - Sen. Sanders to Host National Town Hall on Climate Change Solutions

U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) will host a national town hall on Monday, Dec. 3, aimed at addressing the global threat of climate change and exploring solutions that can protect the planet from devastation and create tens of millions of good-paying jobs.

Sanders will be joined by 350.org founder and author Bill McKibben; actress, activist and Our Revolution board member Shailene Woodley; CNN host and author Van Jones; Earth Guardians Youth Director Xiuhtezcatl Martinez; Union of Concerned Scientists Director of Climate Science Dr. Brenda Ekwurzel; Dale Ross, mayor of Georgetown, Texas, and other environmental experts and activists.

"The reason we are having this town hall is pretty simple. Unless we take bold and drastic action to address climate change and transform our energy system away from fossil fuels to renewable sources of energy, I fear very much that the world we leave for our kids and grandkids will be in much worse shape than the world we live in today," Sanders said. “Let’s go forward to transform our energy system away from fossil fuels, create millions of jobs in the process and leave behind a planet that is livable for our children and grandchildren.”

The event, titled “Solving Our Climate Crisis,” will be held in front of a live audience at the Capitol Visitor Center's Congressional Auditorium in Washington from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and live streamed on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

This will be Sanders' fifth national town hall of 2018 and is being presented in partnership with NowThis, ATTN:, The Young Turks, The Years Project, The Intercept, The Nation and Act.tv. Sanders' town halls on Medicare for All and Inequality in America were each viewed live by more than 1 million people.
