HuffPO front page, now: VOTER Fury at Centrist Seth: You're Sexist!

Rep. Seth Moulton Faces Friendly Fire Back Home For Opposing Pelosi
The rising Democratic star says making Nancy Pelosi House speaker would be “failing the American people.” Some in his Massachusetts district call him sexist.

--snip--
Now, as that willingness to criticize top Democratic officials reaches its peak with his leadership of a coup against likely House Speaker-in-waiting Nancy Pelosi, Moulton is feeling the backlash. At a town hall in his district on Massachusetts’ North Shore on Monday night, activists confronted Moulton with accusations of sexism and ageism, mirroring the assault he’s facing from Pelosi allies in Washington.

“I’m totally pissed off,” said Linda Christian, 80, a retired lawyer who sharply questioned Moulton at the event. “I voted for him. I like this man. I think he’s shown, if not animus, stupidity.”

“He feels women are disposable, and elderly people are disposable,” she continued.

I think Speaker Pelosi is the right person for the job, not just because she is a women but she has leadership skills and the kind of anti fascist attitude needed to lead our party. I'm not going to tag her opposition as a centralist or righty, but I do question their motives and only hope they have as little power in the party as possible.

deserves to lead. That being said, prior to the election I believed Nancy needed replaced because I didn't believe she was being tough enough with trump, and I didn't like how she scolded members who were, like Auntie Maxine. I think Rep Moulton is sufficiently leftist that he doesn't deserve to be denigrated as a "centrist" or "republican puppet". And I think a bit of a challenge will be good for Nancy as she now is the leader of the resistance. We need warriors not Neville Chamberlain's.

and gave him holy hell for his rightward turn and misogyny.

If he sticks with his current course, he will be primaried, and SHOULD IMO.

on the issues, it seems clear that his close friends among the current R's have left considerable influence and that worries me. There is "working across the aisle" which is, of course not a bad thing and then there is:

He recently got engaged to be married, and he proposed on the balcony of the office of Republican Paul Ryan, speaker of the House. The wedding is this fall, and the plan is to have on the guest list an even number of Republicans and Democrats from Congress.

He is a very ambitious guy. He also certainly appears to hold grudges (particularly against Pelosi who did not support him during his first run against a long term incumbent)

Because if he said he WOULD, and now doesn't, then he's a liar.
