What would happen if Lynch and Comey resist their subpoenas?

I assume they would be held in contempt, but with the Dems taking over in January could they just comply and reduce whatever punishment the GOP doled out? Could the Dems withdraw the subpoenas ? (Sorry if I word this poorly or imprecisely)

Somehow I see these subpoenas as a GOP temper tantrum. Am I missing something?

2. There are Ways to Delay and Run Out the Clock

Skilled attorneys can find legitimate methods to postpone any hearings until the new House is sworn in. Fortunately, Congress gifts themselves with generous holidays, so the number of days they will actually be in session this time of year is greatly reduced.

Congress (like the courts at the Federal level) possess no innate enforcement mechanism; they have to rely on the Executive Branch to enforce anything they set forth or issue.

The only person who was capable of MAKING Rove show up, was Bush.
And that's why he never did.

so it will be slow going in courts if it comes to that. Grandstanding by Badlatte cause there's nothing good about him.

This is all about the Tea Party Wing of the Rethugs trying to recruit new members. They just do not get it.

It gives them a recent event to point to when their own REAL criminals are subpoenaed to say, "the Dems refused ours, so we're refusing theirs". Better to ask for a continuance until January and to make the hearings public.

Throw water on it. Dodge it. Don't feed 'em fart food. Delay, delay, delay. Sometimes simply turn the lights on and let 'em spew.

Not much more we can do.

(But what we don't dare do is ignore it.)

Its a laughable request. Very easy to run out the clock using simple excuses and delay tactics with this little time left.

15. As long as the hearings are public, they should testify. Comey, for example, could start laughing

and wonder aloud how Hillary's presidency is going since he's accused of helping her during the campaign. Lynch, of course, could work in contacts between Trump and Russians or felons or porn stars or indicted buddies.
