Is the increase in extra judicial killings of journalists and witnesses

because of the internet? I mean the authoritarians can't hide behind their borders because their public can read anything written from abroad these days. I wonder if there is a way journalists can get together to fight this trend.

I believe I read this is the second head of Russian intelligence that has mysteriously died within two years.
Your theory makes sense, also before the internet it wasn't as easy to look at the bigger picture.
