There are others things that happen in the world and I get them from reading the print media and the "ticker tape" at the bottom of CNN and MSNBC.
I just turned off CNN earlier in disgust. And a few days ago turned off Brian Williams even though I think that his is the best. Invite interesting guests and let them talk. And this at the midnight hour Eastern.
All his twits are just farts that come from the void between his ears, don't mean anything, often are reversed of things that he uttered earlier, or that will be reversed. We don't learn anything from him.

(15,751 posts)Partly because it goes against trump; and as more of the public becomes aware of the real trump the media are encouraged to go deeper into the real trump; and bits at the individual micro level, like Melania/Barron and grandparents do not live in the WH [just paraded out for misleading photo ops]; make trump more realistic looking.

(2,824 posts)I have had to unsubscribe from YouTube and Instagram sites such as Michael Moore because all they post is pictures and reTweets from Rump. He has way over-saturated the media and so many markets that I am turning them all off until it improves.

(12,344 posts)Our brains automatically pay attention to outrageous. Especially in today's world when there is so much competing for our attention. Trump's willingness to say anything to get attention forces the media to report on him. Being a news reporter does not exempt you from human nature. So it's not their fault. If they turn their attention to something else, Trump will tweet or hold a news conference to bring the focus back on him. If it doesn't work, he will do something even more attention grabbing, until they do pay attention. Negative attention works just as well or better than positive.
The only way to defend yourself is to turn the television off, don't read his tweets, don't talk about Trump. Focus on the real issues - what are the policies you want? Who best to represent those policies? This is why Pelosi's healthcare focus was such a stroke of genius. It was a way of talking about something important without giving Trump any attention. Of course, he will grab attention any way. Let him. The rest of us have a job to do.

Wonder whether Faux and Limpdick cover him that much.

(12,344 posts)That was his big promise. They like the shitshow. The media still doesn't get that. Or maybe they do get it, because ratings are up. The only thing that can stop him is progressive populism. That's where we focus on real concerns and exciting people about real solutions.

(30,673 posts)oh, and Hillary's emails, a perennial favorite it seems to try to replace Trump on the news. Be careful what you wish for.
