For those interested in Dem caucus results

I'm not sure they will have concrete numbers related to those who chose "uncommitted" rather than Obama for their preference group.

At our caucus, we had 3 people out of about 40 who chose "uncommitted." This wasn't a large enough percentage to earn any delegates, so all went to the president.

We reported results by phone (touchtone numbers, not talking to a real person). So, I reported that our group split into preference groups, and then how many delegates were awarded to each group (all for Obama; 0 for "all other candidates" ). At no time was I asked to report how many people were in each group, so I'm not sure definitive numbers will be available.

That said, the caucus worked just as it was supposed to. Obama got all the delegates, and some individuals got to voice their opinion by choosing "uncommitted."

And everyone can vote for Obama in November.

More than 7,500 Iowans tonight pledged to volunteer for the Obama campaign

Tonight’s caucus successfully brought our supporters together, and we’re overwhelmed that more than 25,000 Iowans turned out to talk about the President’s record and vision for an economy that restores security for the middle class. We not only saw how excited Iowans are to support President Obama, but to also work for his reelection. The Iowa caucus was a great opportunity to test our campaign organization and expand our volunteer base as we move toward November. In a strong show of support, more than 7,500 Iowans tonight pledged to volunteer for the campaign over the course of the next year, underscoring their commitment to continuing the change the country has seen under President Obama’s leadership.

I attended. We listened to the President's speech which was very nice, selected our county convention delegates and committee people, signed a couple of candidate filing petitions, one for Christie Vilsack, who will attempt to unseat that conservative tool Steve King, had coffee and some really tasty homemade snacks and enjoyed the Republican candidates chewing one another to pieces. It was really pleasant. We are all excited and fired up for 2012 and very hopeful that Americans are finally waking up to the dangers of the conservative agenda.

...did try to make a showing, one could argue it was around 10%, but certainly less than 15% since Obama got all the votes, as another poster pointed out.

Thanks very much for your report, I understand how it works now and won't expect any sorts of numbers. I'd appreciate if other DUers who caucused did their own personal reporting, though.

1% state delegates, 1% county delegates went for "other," which could be "uncommitted." I don't know if that's how it works though.
