There simply is NO comparison between this journalist murder and cover-up and the Iran deal.

The Iran deal was just not the US alone and was considered a way to keep Iran from going nuke and gave the west the most access to inside Iranian nuke activities ever. More than the access we have in NK, India, Pakistan or Israel for that matter. Protecting Saudi Arabia is our pre-payment for what is coming down the line.

How many balls does Trump have, anyway...must be more than two because Saudi Arabia has one, Russia has one, and NK has one.

and then by Secretaries Kerry and Moniz.

What the right has attempted to do with this is to mischaracterize the goal of the effort. The goal - from beginning to end - was to push back where Iran's nuclear program was and to install surveillance designed by a team led by Secretary Moniz to follow cable to grave all processes for inputs needed for a nuclear program. Even Israel's intelligence agreed that this was a strong program to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear bomb. ( There are some things that end in 10 years.)

It was NEVER the assumption that this would lead Iran to acting better in the area. It is also a strange lie that Obama believed that there was a fatwa against nuclear bombs OR that Obama was fooled by how far along the program was in 2013. There are many easily available quotes from Kerry, Obama etc that compared Iran being about 2 months from having a bomb and - more imporatntly, saying they understood the entire cycle - meaning they already had the knowledge.

It was BECAUSE they had a successful program that Obama committed the political capital (a lot given the power of AIPAC etc and the various Saudi/UAE funded think tanks in the US) and the time of both Kerry and Moniz. In reality, what the Sunni states and Netanyahu preferred was for the US to bomb Iran.

Even now, that deal makes it harder for Trump and Bolton to get support for a war against Iran - even as "standing up to Iran" is the key to Trump's middle east strategy. Step one for them is to characterize that international agreement as something that Obama/kerry did poorly and possibly for nefarious reasons. (twitter has many RW claims ) Not to mention, there are claims on twitter of Obama and especially Kerry making "frequent trips" to Iran -- when NEITHER have gone there. Step two (already started in conjuction with step one is repeating constantly that Iran is the leading state backing terrorism. Here, blaming Iran for Yemen ignores any reasonable look at who did what, BUT this call out is likely intended to get us to argue that SA is worse -- and we will then be said to be "defending Iran". Step three will likely be a case made to attack.
