...then it appears to be working.
They have a cover-up for every occasion.
People are tired of the lies and the abuse of our justice system.
Donald Trump is protected by the Presidency and the presidency is protected by Robert Mueller. Mueller does not believe a "sitting president" can be indicted, it has been reported. If Trump is not indicted, nothing has been accomplished. The most likely scenario, the entire investigation will end up in Congress, where it will be talked to death.
If that is the case, two years from now, Donald Trump may be serving his second term.
The Democratic Congress will not impeach Donald Trump. We should steel ourselves for two more years of this bullshit.
Give a demagogue an inch and he will take your country.
A journalist is murdered and the leaders of our CIA and our National Security Adviser turn the other way. Nothing to see here.
Is the coup farther along than any of us realize?

(25,111 posts)He is doing down and I hope Pence goes with him just after Jan 3, 2019. They are wearing each other down, but not us.
Impeachment was always a no go.

(82,849 posts)The folks who have their hands on the levers of power and who can enforce some discipline aren't interested in doing anything about Trump. He's running amok because the Republicans who would rein him in refuse to do so.
In five weeks, the House will pass control to the Democrats. There's still a lot of time for more damage to be done, but the sheriff is a-near.

(22,100 posts)step up to the challenge(s) and face them head on. There are those who'll look at us and wonder how this happened, the corruption, the stealing of an election, plus the country ending up w/ only one effective party since the repugs gerrymandered themselves into perpetual governance.
We can stop this and we did this by taking the House, and we have a whole slew of candidates slowly being assembled for the upcoming 2020 elections and/or the next presidential run. Perhaps also some meaningful and valid legislative issues can be accomplished, but it is unlikely since the current repug leadership is blocking meaningful legislation, such as protecting Muellers' efforts.
Mueller by then should be finished perhaps by then with his report(s), and depending on what he found and concluded in his report(s), our challenges may be increased, e.g., the repug-controlled Senate fails in its duty to remove an illegally elected president and corrupt one at them from office.
There are simply too many things going on around rump and the 2016 election that smacks of something wrong and illegal. Too many coincidences happened that shows that something happened. As they say, if too many things all happened because of one thing, they did. Don't over interpret what's the obvious evidence points to. Rump if one thinks about it, wouldn't be above cheating. Just look at his record of claiming credit for things in no way belong to his list of accomplishments.

(41,974 posts)It depends on where you look. A lot of people are getting more disgusted and angrier by the day over his shit.
I never expected anything less than 4 years of Trump. Impeachment works a certain way, and he is not getting impeached, barring some crime even Republicans cant stomach I dont expect 8 years though. The drama of Trump is indeed tiring.
