It's Time, Republicans

You have now officially arrived at the crossroads. You have to choose which direction you go in from here; there is no turning back.

Your “pResident” is going down. He probably doesn’t understand that yet – because he’s too arrogant to think anyone can outsmart him, and he’s too stupid to appreciate just how obviously stupid he really is.

Your “pResident” has acted the ignorant, bloviating buffoon since his first day in office. Now his behaviour is becoming even more erratic than usual, and his statements are even more unhinged than the incoherent nonsense he has spewed in the past.

The results of the midterms confirmed that the country is rejecting your “pResident”, and your party. They confirmed that your “pResident” is not the vote-getter he claimed to be – far from it; the majority of candidates he endorsed/campaigned for lost their races. His disapproval numbers keep going up, and his “base” is dwindling.

The “promises kept” meme is dead. Mexico is not paying for a wall, Obamacare has not been replaced with cheaper and better healthcare that will “cover everyone”, and the swamp has been repopulated with the incompetent and the corrupt. The national debt has been exploded due to tax-cuts for the wealthy, crops are rotting in the field because they can’t be sold due to tariffs, and the migrants who traditionally work those fields are gone.

So that leaves you where you are today, Republicans. You now have to make a choice. Either you continue to support (enable) the madman you put in the White House – or you cut your losses and hope to survive.

Come January, both parties will be gearing-up for the 2020 general election. Do you really want to move forward with a “pResident” who is losing you votes, and just lost you control of the House? Do you really want to promote the re-election of a man who is more than likely to have his crimes and corruption exposed by Mueller before people go to the polls in November 2020? Do you really want to stand behind the pathological liar who is about to be newly investigated by the Democrats now in charge of the House?

Do you really want to try and convince voters that your “pResident” is a patriot – when he couldn’t be bothered to attend Veterans’ Day ceremonies due to rain, and sent the military to the border as a political stunt? Do you really want to encourage the re-election of a “pResident” who sides with our enemies, while dismissing our own intelligence agencies? Do you really want to spend the next two years Trump-‘splaining your “pResident’s” ludicrous tweets, his bizarre behaviour, the scandals that keep emerging on a daily basis?

It’s time, Republicans. You can’t avoid the inevitable forever. Either you rid yourselves (and the country) of your “pResident”, or you Shoot the Moon – hoping beyond all hope that supporting a pussy-grabbing, self-serving idiot is somehow going to pay off in the end.

You might want to keep in mind that the longer you wait to choose your path, the closer we get to November 2020 – and the closer we get to the revelation of Mueller’s findings. Those revelations would be detrimental to your party now – just imagine how devastating they will be if revealed just before voters go to the polls in the 2020 GE.

The political ball is in your court, Republicans. Now is the time to cut bait and go home – or double-down on protecting a man who has already proven himself to be a complete dumbass who can’t keep his lies straight.

The photos of women and children being tear-gassed at the border have already gone viral around the world. Is that an image you think you can overcome?

Your “pResident’s” ludicrous claims that climate change is non-existent have circled the globe. Is that something you want to get behind?

Your “pResident” continues to lie and pull “facts” from his ass. Is that something you want to continue to defend?

”Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their party,” and, as the midterms proved beyond any doubt, your party is no longer supported by those who now fully understand that they’ve been had.

I look forward to your ultimate decision, Republicans. You have only two choices: dump Trump or continue to support him – knowing that doing so means going down with him, a decision I couldn’t be happier with.

The only silver lining in what is now transpiring is the fact that the GOP is caught between a rock and a hard place. You either put all of your political eggs in the Trump “deplorable” basket, or you admit that you elected a traitor to the presidency – not a winning strategy either way.

Personally, I am thrilled to see you where you are – a pretty much damned if you do, damned if you don’t position.

I look forward to watching which noose the GOP chooses to hang itself with – because choking to death is the end result either way.

They voted to consider making a move in Syria to counter Saudi Arabia's actions there, in response to Trump's failure to hold S.A. accountable for Kashoggi. Something like that. I can't recall the last time (if ever) they've made a move against a Trump position.

Right now, Trump is the Republican party's worst enemy.

If you've ever played Monopoly, there comes a point where one player obviously has the most expensive properties and is on his way to winning the game. The remaining players concede, and you either start a new game or put it away. We can't do that this time. We need to play the game all the way out to the final end, the utter bankruptcy of the last player. We were stopped by presidential pardons in 1974 and 1992, and failed to do anything in 2007 and 2009 out of a misguided desire to look forward to the future instead of looking backwards to the past. That's in part how we got here today, the laughingstock of our enemies, mistrusted by our allies, and impotent among the community of nations.

We need to pull every last thread, track down every last fox, and bring cold justice to every bad actor, supporter, and hanger-on in this mess. This disease on our body politic has to be eradicated this time.

I see the Mueller investigation about to be curtailed, if not already, by defunding, not giving authorization for things, restricting further investigations....because of Whitaker, and the ringer Kavanaugh put in place to rule in Trump's favor on anything that makes it to the S.Ct. And any move against Trump will go to the S.Ct.

Mueller just lost his key witness to get to the head of the mob: Trump. Then he lost Stone's associate. As Trump talks pardons.

He doesn't seem too worried to me. Today he doubled down on the "sweeping the forest floor" nonsense that he knows most people laughed at him for saying. Same ol' thing.

We don't even know if the report will be released to the public. We all know that Trump will use all his power to make sure the whole report isn't released, but something will be released like Nunes released of documents: a crafted document by them with excerpts of the report, and rewording it. Leaving out anything that makes Trump look guilty or bad. Or maybe it won't be released at all for national security reasons, since it involves other countries, cyberwar, hacking of our elections, etc.

I hope I'm wrong. But that's what I see currently.

Now, if all this comes to pass, and the House can open the investigation again in January....can they do that, if the investigation has been concluded? I don't know.

And I expect it to be totally devastating for Trump.

And I expect Republicans to totally ignore it and Trump will remain king of the hill. Everyone underneath him, including his family, are locked up in jail but Trump remains president and fully supported by the Republican Senate.

Trump will be forgiven for anything.
He could be feasting on infant entrails for a Satanic Mass and his fundamentalist followers will forgive him.

There have so many times along the way of this hellish path that I have thought "Surely THIS will be it." But it never was.

If the Democrats stay together and focus on Trump....I have high hopes. I hope different groups start pushing for focusing on different issues....each rep. has a pet issue. But Trump is the main reason we have all those seats in the House, and this is critical. So I HOPE Pelosi can keep the barrel of cats focused on the main objective. If we do that, we can address the other issues later.

News today: Cohen's guilty plea for lying to Congress links, for the firsts time, Trump to Russia, in open court. This is very good news.

His base isn't big enough to re-elect him - it wasn't big enough to keep the House in his hands.

A big chunk of his "base" are Evangelicals - who would be happy to see Trump go down because it means their great Christian saviour, Pence, will take his place.

The midterms proved that Trump's "base" is irrelevant.

... to re-elect Trump, it's worthless going into 2020. That base is diminishing, not growing.

Besides, that base is comprised of the most easily-manipulated, ill-informed idiots in the voting pool - and the GOP knows it. The Republican PTB convinced them that a pussy-grabbing, serial adulterer is a "good Christian" - it would be an easy task to convince them to dump Trump and get behind Holier-Than-Thou Pence.

He would also give evangelicals a platform to support him. If they supported the amoral trump, imaging the bliss of supporting a religious fanatic.

Unless Muller has the goods on Pence as well, and I hope he does, I find Pence very dangerous, reason why I have been saying that impeachment has to be off the table at this time. The best strategy, in my view, is to make trump a lame duck, then replace them all come 2020 by getting a Democrat majority in both the house and the senate.
