Army tells recruiters to stay away from erotic dance clubs

The Nov. 20 letter, distributed to Army recruiters and shared to the Twitter masses by "U.S. Army WTF! Moments", declared all recruiting personnel to be henceforth “barred from frequenting Erotic Dance Establishments.”

“Recruiters are the most public facing element of the U.S. Army, and are the personnel through which the American public will draw lasting impressions about the character of soldiers,” the letter said.

Such establishments, according to the memo, are defined as venues featuring "live performances by topless and/or bottomless dancers or entertainers, go-go dancers, strippers or similar entertainers, where such performances are characterized by an emphasis on sexual activities or anatomical areas.”

A 2015 Inspector General report found that between July 2013 and June 2014, military personnel racked up over $1 million worth of charges at casinos and adult entertainment establishments using government-issued credit cards intended for Department of Defense-related travel expenditures.

Some of those women are incredible athletes and would make top notch defenders of our nation.

Go where the potential recruits are.

I met so many guys in the service whose idea of the pinnacle of entertainment was strip-clubs.

While they were looking and staying lonely, I went out and met women, talked with them, made friends with them, and often had the kinds of relationships the strip-club guys were looking for, but were too lazy to work at.

But I digress.

Recruiters know where to find their fresh prospects.

"Recruiters know where to find their fresh prospects..."

Same demographic. And as an added cost-saver, the recruiters wouldn't have to pay for women to smile or notice them.

instead of places such as exotic dance clubs...I'm thinking that the recruiters are going for themselves and not doing government business, so obviously they had some abuses occur e.g., go and not recruit.

I didn't even know they featured "live performances by topless and/or bottomless dancers," until you sent me the memo. I thought they were just patrons having a good time.
