How many votes does it take for Congress to do certain things?

How many votes does it take for Congress to do certain things?

Does anyone have a comprehensive article that tells what percentage or number of votes it takes to do particular actions?

Certain spending/tax bills... Certain approval for actions.

Sometimes a bare majority.
Sometimes 2/3.
Sometimes other percentages... 60%... 75%... ---?
How many to override a veto?
How many to stop a filibuster.

Probably different rules for the House vs the Senate.

I wonder, because I know that we were taught this sort of stuff in Jr. High School. But what do I know about school today. I am 63. Perhaps they don't even teach this stuff any more. It would not surprise me one bit.

(see judicial filibusters) over the years, enough to confuse this 62-year-old. Not such a bad question in my opinion.

1/2 + 1 to pass most things.
2/3 to override a veto. This is after a bill has been presented to president and must be voted on by both houses.
3/5 to stop filibuster in SENATE. Filibuster is not available in House.
That is what I learned.

All bills are controlled by the Speaker. It takes 2/3s to override a veto in both the House and Senate. In the Senate it effectively takes 60 votes to pass anything significant because almost all significant bills are filibustered. It takes a simple majority to pass appointments to the Executive branch and judicial nominees.
