I met George HW Bush....was not impressed.

2006 at Biddeford Pool, Me. The SS would not let us leave until Fidelity II left the harbor. But we were able to meet HW directly. So, I said, why aren't we making an effort to wean ourselves off ME oil? He said, there is no money in that idea. No money for him is what I got from that. Fuck Him.

1. I've met both him and GW.

The latter was much more charming than the former by leaps and bounds. Both we're obviously feeding me their best blather. I found it a testament to the evolution of modern politics.

2. Interesting in that back in 1972, I met GWB at the Forefather's Inn in Ogunquit

Not directly, he was holding court with a bunch of sycophants at the bar and accidentally dumped a beer on me (I was sittig at the bar and he was behind me) . I took serious umbrage, but my friends reminded me that I was only 17 and was drinking underage....so I didn't make a scene. He was quite the dilettante as far as I can remember. Never should have been POTUS 43.

4. How did you know who he was in 1972?

W ran for Congress in the late 70's, but before then he wasn't a household name. Or did you mean when he ran for Governor in 1994, you said to yourself "That's the guy who spilled a beer on me!"?

5. Sounds like he might have been a local. If so, he would have known who the

Bush's were since they spent their summers in Kennebunkport.
