Trump Considering Mark Meadows for Chief of Staff

What's happening: Trump has asked confidants what they think about the idea of installing Rep. Mark Meadows, the chairman of the ultra-conservative House Freedom Caucus, as John Kelly's permanent replacement, according to these three sources. Trump has also mentioned three other candidates besides Meadows, making a list of four, according to a source with direct knowledge. I don't yet have their names.

Nick Ayers, previously considered the favorite, is out of the running to be Kelly's replacement, according to sources with direct knowledge.

"Nick couldn't give POTUS a two-year commitment so he's going to help him on the outside instead," one of these sources told me. (This news was first reported by the Wall Street Journal.)

I wonder though, if he, or anyone else, will do the job.

Trump's ship is already taking on water.

NC would be better off without him and by having a chance for a special election. He has been worthless as far as helping NC agriculture businesses that have suffered from losing immigrant workers and imposition of tariffs and he has done nothing to get FEMA or Congressional assistance after Hurricane Matthew and floods last May (where Congress and Fema denied NC funds)

He loses all relevance as rightwing point man in Congress after Dem takeover but being in WH would give him a platform for propping up base with his extreme positions.

Would take that job, and knowing they will be demanded to be corrupt for trump , then face a mountain of debt in legal fee's for criminal trump. He would have to be a moron to accept that position.
