himself with any of his party's scummy activities that he can avoid. This is a very long-term pattern.

In fact before they became this bad, and before he was majority leader, he was famous for saying he saw no reason to speak to his voters, or that it was a waste of his time or something of that order. He's been selling influence and reliably returned by office with however much money that takes for decades now.

Lol, Pence does his best to play least-in-sight also, but his role as uber-loyal acolyte doesn't allow that as much.

Trump doesn't negotiate his own deals. He doesn't fire people himself. He doesn't write or take part in the writing of his own books.

Someone in the administration should be smart enough to keep the cameras out even if Trump really wanted them.

with Trump, "prepared" with his mini-cuecards and Schumer and Pelosi speaking off the cuff, having expected a quick photo-op before a closed-door negotiation.

The dems couldn't publicly call him on it without looking whiny, but I think they did pretty well, all things considered. Pelosi even called attention to his cards.

How many of his staff were actually in on the plan we can't know. Even if they were, his staff at this point is only sycophantic yes-bots who couldn't stop him anyway.

Schumer called him out. I have seen this a zillion times in business environments...unless a woman can speak up and be short and very pointed, men will talk right over them. Doesn’t make her or any woman less smart ( in most cases they are smarter). I think that neither pressed him on Mexico paying for the wall...inexcusable. Don’t recall anyone having a golden opportunity like this in a very long time.

Sure the rest would see that as anything deeper than he was being respectful to her. It stuck out to me because I have seen that so much...men in business (maybe just because I am now in a red state)..who think they are acting cool...and hip...but are actually patronizing the woman.

Pretty tough to out shout a raving idiot. I am a soft voiced man, I have been in plenty of meetings where loud mouthed idiots had to be silenced with facts, you try not to publicly humiliate them. Nancy pointed out that the discussion should be fact based away from cameras. I agree with her.

Why do you think he has those "helicopter" press conferences? So we can't hear the questions and he can bullshit away!

I heard him say that Acosta wasn't a problem because they could just turn the camera off him. He is orchestrating.

Why he was pissed today that Schumer didn't look him in the eye. Made him look less kingly.

Chuck Schumer even lured him into a trap.

There is a credible report that Trump was so mad after the meeting that he threw briefing papers across the Oval Office, that is not what a person that "won" does, certainly not one that is supposed to be media savvy. He got his ass kicked.

The rest of the world will see it as more proof for disqualifying Trump.

His bad actions don’t demean other people anymore. They serve to show him for being who he really is.

My opinion is to give his mouth full rein because he will hang himself faster than anyone else can.

a concentrated effort to move leadership to the right...I am no for that...they would give in to Repubs...you need a person who is in a safe blue district. Nancy has experience...and new is overrated in this context in my opinion.

They both dug in in their heels and talked over each other. It was just a mess more than anything.

The one note was that Trump did say that he'll gladly take full responsibility shutting down the government. That's a clip that's going to both be hated by the left and independents, and loved by his base. To his voters, he's "taking charge" and "putting America first"
