Flynn complains in sentencing plea that FBI didn't tell him lying to them was a crime

Bradley P. Moss @BradMossEsq 1m1 minute ago
If you worked your way up the ranks in the Government over decades of service, and you don’t know about 18 USC 1001, you are really stupid.

Like, criminally stupid.

Ken Dilanian @KenDilanianNBC
Flynn’s lawyers say he wasn’t warned by the FBI agents that lying to them is a crime, as if that is somehow exculpatory.

1. It's not like a Miranda warning; and anyhow, a guy who's worked in intelligence for years

12. Interesting that FBI tried but didn't succeed in tripping up Hillary whereas they caught Flynn lying

I recall that FBI presented Hillary with emails they had deliberately altered/falsified in order to test her reaction and in contrast to Flynn, her responses indicated she was consistent and honest.

Note that two of the FBI agents were McCabe and Strzok.

Well, yeah, they should be seen as allies, unless you're conspiring with a hostile foreign power to defraud the citizens of the United States while you're supposed to be the National Security Advisor. Then the feeling might not be mutual.

13. I wish judge would lock him up for 2 weeks for implying a perjury trap by McCabe and Strzok

Flynn couldn't resist making an attempt to excuse his actions and curry favor with Trump and rightwingers by implying entrapment by McCabe and Strzok. Their involvement in the Flynn interview clearly triggered the Trump-led attacks leading to their removal being orchestrated after Trump fired Comey.

had contact with the feds before. He knows it's a crime to lie to them and he also knows that it's not mandatory they give him a warning about the law before talking to him. Judges know what Miranda is and isn't.
