Morning Joe railed against Mike Pompeo on Wednesday over his deflections in an interview on Saudi Arabia and the killing of Jamal Khashoggi — and host Mika Brzezinski went so far as to call the secretary of state a “wannabe dictator’s butt-boy.”

Pompeo was pressed on the U.S. stance towards Saudi Arabia in an interview on Fox & Friends and asked whether he believed crown prince Mohammed bin Salman‘s denials that he ordered the killing of Khashoggi. Pompeo dodged the questions.

“I understand that Donald Trump doesn’t care,” Brzezinski said on Morning Joe. “But why doesn’t Mike Pompeo care right now?”

“Are the pathetic deflections that we just heard when he appeared on Fox & Friends — is that a patriot speaking? Or a wannabe dictator’s butt-boy? I’m dead serious, I’m asking: are these the words of a patriot?”

I was with you, @morningmika, right up to the “butt boy” comment. Try “toadie” or “lackey” or “stool pigeon” or “ass kisser,” or “traitor,” but maybe don’t equate homosexuality with Mike Pompeo carrying water for the murderous regime in Saudi Arabia.
