All hair transplant surgery does is take hair from the back of the head and move it to the bald areas. Eventually you run out of good sites to pull the plugs from, because it's getting thin in the back too. Here's John's brother Joey, who is only 4 years older.

Men use the spray or a powdered product with fibers, but some eventually get kind of a scalp tattoo to help camouflage hair loss. Of course there are weaves and hairpieces as well. But hair transplant surgery really isn't a permanent fix.

Part of Travolta's problem is that he continues to dye his hair very black. When the hair is thick, that's fine, but as the hair thins, more of his white scalp shows through and shows how sparse his hair is. At the very least he should let his hair be its natural gray. That would be less of a contrast with his scalp.

But as a straight female, I just have to say that men need to quit struggling with their baldness. I realize it's a reminder that it's a reminder that they are getting older and no one likes that. But if they were handsome when they had hair, they'll be handsome without it. Just cut it short or shave it.

Billy Zane. Handsome with and without hair.
