She's waving her arms all over the place and using phrases to describe campaigns like "bitter bitter chicken dinner" when she was talking aobut the McCain/Romney battle of 2008. She also alluded to the fact that she has a "small brain", which is obviously true...but my God...I haven't seen anyone like this in a long time...
On edit: answer below...UNBELIEVABLE!

(25,525 posts)it was opposed to the anchor who has dark hair. You're ex-actly correct in this case. Congratulations to you.

(9,523 posts)Because "winner winner..." is the phrase as recently popularized by Charlie Sheen in his crazy fugue state on an internet radio show, and replayed in soundbite form by the Howard Stern show an infinite number of times.

(17,111 posts)she "spoke against "cable news operators who wrap themselves in the American flag and go after a certain target demographic", and specifically named Fox News Channel as an example.[3] The New York Times reported that her speech angered NBC management, who rebuked her and lowered her profile.[2
What they did to her:
I was office-less for ten months ... No phone, no computer. For ten months I had to report to work every day and ask where I could sit. If somebody was away I could use their desk. Eventually, after ten months of this, I was given an office that was a tape closet. They cleared the tapes out and put a desk and a TV in there, and a computer and phone. It was pretty blatant.
The message was crystal clear. Yet they wouldn't let me leave. I begged for seventeen months to be let out of my contract. If they had no use for me, let's just part ways amicablyno need for payouts, just a clean break. And [NBC News President Neal Shapiro] wouldn't allow it.
I don't know what his rationale wasperhaps he thought I would take what I felt was a very strong brand, and others felt was a very strong brand, to another network and make a success of it. Maybe that's why he chose to keep me in a warehouse. I will never forgive him for his cruelty and the manner in which he decided to dispose of me.

Prior to joining the network, Banfield worked for MSNBC and reported from numerous overseas locations, including the Middle East and Central Asia. She received several Emmy Awards for her body of journalistic work, and criticized media coverage of the Iraq War in April 2003. She was also briefly a law and justice correspondent on Good Morning America until October 2011 and now works for CNN Early Start.

Banfield has more balls than most reporters and all of the cable and network executives. It took big brass ones to do and say what she did.
She has never gotten the same kind of assignments since. Banfield seems to float from place to place. She reports on a variety subjects.
I fully believe that she has been singled out and 'Dixie Chicked' by all the people who run the MSM. Blackballed all the way!
It would appear from the comments that she was less than stellar. However, I believe she is an excellent reported and journalist. She may just not give a damn right now.
