on government employees as no big deal because "they're still going to get paid ... this is just a paid vacation ... etc." Not only is it difficult for most people to go without a paycheck - especially during the holidays - but, regardless of the precedent, they have no guarantee that they'll get back pay this time around. They have to go through all this facing the possibility, however remote, that they won't ever be paid.

Would you want your financial security to be in the hands of this man?

'well they already had Christmas Eve off and Christmas is a holiday....."


That one burns me, TSA are on their feet all day keeping the skies safe during a heavily travel load. Personally, I want them happy, not bitter and distracted on how they are going to put food on their table and pay rent.
