How are your charitable donations changing this year?

Are you donating less? More? To any new organizations?

I'm adding the Women's Refugee Commission to my list this year, for their work on behalf of migrant families at the U.S. border.

With the higher standard deduction in place for 2018 Federal Income Taxes, I may not end up itemizing deductions, but I still want to make a difference with my dollars, so I'm donating about as much as I have in previous years. Scrambling to get a few more contributions in by Monday.

I mostly donate to environmental and animal rights groups, also to NH Food Bank. I donate throughout the year.

The ACLU is always one of my top priorities, and this year is no exception. I may add Fair Fight Georgia, the group formed by Stacey Abrams.

So you need higher deductions to itemize. I chose to make a larger contribution this year and itemize. I like to keep my giving local and the bulk of it goes to our animal shelter.

I lost a good size bonus to Dump’s tariffs. I will be budget cutting and charities are on my cut list.

Elections have consequences.

I am a 100% service-connected disabled veteran so I don't pay income tax so that doesn't have an effect on us. I give to the local Baptist Children's Home, commissary and phone privileges at a local prison for the poor, pet food and vet bills for needy dogs and cats and cash for the homeless.

The charity I do because it's the right thing to do, don't think about deduction.
