Trump supporter to C-SPAN host: 'The government shutdown is good because it will bring Jesus back'

Speaking to host John McArdle, a man identifying himself as “Scott” said that he couldn’t suggest a solution to the shutdown because he’s in support of it.

“I don’t really have a solution,” Scott said. “But I am in support of it because I’m waiting for the second coming. We just celebrated the first coming of Jesus. But Jesus is coming back.”

“And as crazy as the government is, it’s getting us closer,” Scott continued. “Now the solution to having a bill pay for the wall, Trump can do this by going after every business in America that got a tax break if they have any ties to any sister/baby companies off of them that have hired any illegal aliens in the past.”

“I want it shutdown because I can’t wait for when Jesus comes back and gets the righteous real people and takes them to heaven. And then we have a real big mess on this Earth.”

If he thinks Trump is going to bring about the end times does that mean that Trump is the anti-Christ??!?! LOLZ
How on earth can you bring a person like this to the truth....it seems impossible.

Trump has a shitload of undoc workers staffing his hotels and crap.

I guess nobody told good old Vern about that.

The Democrats look at this voter and say "kook".

The Republicans look at this voter, spread their arms and dog whistle "Come on in, Brother, and Amen to that".

Doesn't his second paragraph give it away? Soph0571, did you take this seriously? Either you got the joke, or Scott is serious and the most stupid person alive and not worth commenting on. I listened to the actual call, and McCardle is a) really taking it seriously, or b) deciding the joke has gone on enough. I would think the latter.

I do hope some Trump supporters listened to that second part and understood the joke is on them. They are tools of Trump and the GOP.

That's Trump and the GOP to a 't'.

Think about it: the so-called "Republican Jesus" meme basically documents how they oppose the teachings of Christ, literally. Yet, the GOP and Trump are followed by people who purport to be very rabid followers of Christ.

Paul prophesied of a “man of sin,” a liar and deceiver. Trump can't seem to go a day without lying, and "man of sin" is the perfect description of someone who screws you every chance he gets, in every sense of the words (business, adultery, whatever).

John wrote of a “false prophet” to come at the end time: so-called 'religious leaders' like Franklin Graham are dismissing things like his lies and adultery like he's some sort of new prophet. It's OK for Trump, he's the new messiah.

By his deeds you shall know him.

These ARE the end times.

Or maybe it's just as well that the we see the nutcases.

Maybe this was a prank call, but we all know they're out there.

I HOPE this was a crank call.

But there ARE weirdos out there. This guy reminds me of ronald reagan’s interior secretary. James Watt. I will NEVER forget watching him in a Congressional hearing, wide-eyes and dead serious, testifying under oath that “when the last tree is felled, Jesus will come back.”

Seriously.

The "pro-life" pious, church going evangelical right is all good with their anti-christ leader killing brown babies in his concentration camps because they hate non-white kids enough to let them die in their care.

The more brown babies that Trump kills will bring on the judgement to America, is what they think apparently. The Trump cult is going to be judged very very harshly for following the lawless man of sin!

"Jesus is coming and boy is he pissed."

Christ would not have endorsed the behavior of most of these Republicans.
