Which 'lower tier' 2020 candidate would you like to see rise to the top? Mine is Hickenlooper.

1. In terms of polling, Sherrod Brown is lower tier
But he's popular on DU and I think he would quickly rise to the top.

8. We call him Governor Frakenlooper. Very pro fracking and gas and oil. He even drank
Halliburton "fracking fluid" to show how safe it is.

10. That's the main reason
A second reason is that I think (hope, anyway) that 2020 will be an opening for a much more liberal politician than Hickenlooper.

11. Other than that he was a good Governor. But at this stage of the game a gas and oil proponent
is not what we need. we are running out of time.

7. He might be less progressive than some here want, but he's intelligent and balanced as a candidate..
I disagreed with him on some environmental issues, but have no doubt he'd be more progressive on climate change and the dismantling that Trump has wrought over EPA.
Not sure I'd count him out, though not my #1 by any means. |

5. Any mentioned to date: Hickenlooper, Sherrod Brown, Swalwell could be good candidates...
I still believe Kamala Harris has the "grit" to take the fight to Trump...

12. I'm in the northeast, so I don't have any local perspective
but, I like Eric Garcetti, mayor of LA. Seems to have a great resume.

13. Sherrod Brown.
We need to be able to talk to midwest voters with credibility, and he understands their issues.
