Can you talk me through it? I tried everything, but couldn't get it to copy.
Thanks, SG

1. Right click the toon or picture

2. Go to the properties of the picture and copy the url. You can do this by holding down the left mouse button and dragging it over the url and either press control-c or right click and select "copy". This is what the url of your toon looks like, minus the final g so that the picture doesn't embed:

http://www.independent.co.uk/incoming/article6284619.ece/ALTERNATES/w940/pg-19-cartoon.jp

3. Go to the body of your DU post and press control-v or right click and select "paste".

That's it.

If the picture doesn't embed make sure to only copy up to ".jpg". The characters beyond that point will often keep the photo from embedding.

the time, Rummy. I've tried
your instructions, but still
can't seem to get it to work.

When you "paste" into the body of the post, are you supposed to see the actual image or just the url?

I still only see the url. But
maybe the image magically appears once you hit "Post my thread".

Please advise when you get a minute. Even after 5 or 6 years on the 'internets', I still panic in these situations. LOL!
