He certainly knows that they will rebut him, but I don't "crush" is something his mind even acknowledges. For him, being louder, meaner, nastier, calling them a vulgar name makes him think that he's crushing him. He simply dismisses all criticism as lies against his person.

Too many of the deplorables are KKK, Nazi, White Nationalists, Zionists, racist haters, grifters, homophobes, misogynists and 1% thieves. They are him and support everything he does. There are some that are just really stupid and ignorant who aren't haters or criminals but they are criminally stupid and part of his crowd so get no pass either. Some of his voters have broken from him, the ones who have a brain and pay any attention at all to anything not covered heavily in Faux Snooze. We have a friend like that who is very sorry for his bad mistake and voted Dem in the mid-terms and will vote Dem as long as drumpf is in office to get rid of the taint.
