I crossed a bridge somewhere,,

I'm not sure when or where, I was one who got so angry with the one we do not name and the party who lets this imbecile do what he pleases with no regard for country. I have made posts in a blind rage that were probably not the best worded. My emotions took over the keyboard.
I find myself now reading same news, new "tantrums" "deals" "tweets" and I am no longer angry,,I have actually sat back and cried on days. I have crossed the bridge. I am just sad for this country.

I am older, I served our country, I have my beliefs. I also allow every other person in this world to have their beliefs. I think our country is losing, and I'll explain.

As I see it, we are in a generation/time frame of life where we only see history if it slaps us in the face. Planes to buildings, a President's brains on trunk of car. We have to be startled, disgusted, shocked, among other adjectives to pay attention. These examples are intentional, it's how long the people have been played.

But the provocateurs learned,, and now they are taking it from us quietly, the bridge I crossed is one of tired of every day same, but new outrageous comments, tweets, lies. "They"built this bridge, and now I realize it. How many people have crossed and don't realize it?

In my humble and somewhat older opinion,, we are living history now,, we will feel the slap in our face when it is too late. I am crossing back over the bridge and will search for another bridge. I will not go back to rage, I will find a bridge to fight for our country in a civil way, without raising my blood pressure.
I crossed "their" bridge of apathy, now I came back.

thanks for listening,
Koz

The arc of history is long and painfully slow, but it does indeed bend towards justice in the long run...

What is happening now is a tragedy that those of us alive today will feel forevermore unto our dying day, but the future is still not set and can still shine brighter than we can currently imagine.

John Lennon sang so beautifully of being "not the only one" in "Imagine" and that song has touched millions in the future he was never gifted to experience...so too will the future benefit from the pain we currently must bear witness to, for someday, this too shall pass...

I'm glad that you have gone past anger, because anger is poison. I too have mostly gone past anger. The antidote to anger is patience and a clear, calm abiding mind. This situation will not last forever. Trump will not last forever. All things are impermanent. What matters now is to stay calm and focused on picking the best Dem to run for POTUS. That means paying attention to the ones, who will be running. It also means defeating some GOP senators in 2020. There will be 22 up for election.

These are the times that try our Sr. generation. Trust the Dem leadership to make wise decisions about dealing with Trump. They will make us proud. Have faith that our younger generations see through all the dark fog and lies of the GOP. The future belongs to them. They have their own ideas about what they want. We just have to support them and get out of their way.

I feel the same sadness for our country which had a brief moment in the sun with a middle class that valued education and diligence.

The arc of history bends slowly but the oligarchs kink it as often as they can.

I'd like to give you a rah rah cheer up, but can't seem to find the words.

Good luck.

We need to maintain our courage and live to fight another day.
None of us can do it alone, it takes all of us working together.
Sometimes it seems like the burden is too heavy, but then I think about the load that Robert Mueller III has to carry.
