"An example is Len Blavatnik, a dual U.S.-U.K. citizen and one of the largest donors to GOP political action committees in the 2015-16 election cycle. Blavatnik's family emigrated to the U.S. in the late '70s from the U.S.S.R. and he returned to Russia when the Soviet Union began to collapse in the late '80s.
Data from the Federal Election Commission show that Blavatnik's campaign contributions dating back to 2009-10 were fairly balanced across party lines and relatively modest for a billionaire. During that season he contributed $53,400. His contributions increased to $135,552 in 2011-12 and to $273,600 in 2013-14, still bipartisan.
In 2015-16, everything changed. Blavatnik's political contributions soared and made a hard right turn as he pumped $6.35 million into GOP political action committees, with millions of dollars going to top Republican leaders including Sens. Mitch McConnell, Marco Rubio and Lindsey Graham."

(17,981 posts)Has anyone noticed the anger in Lindseys eyes lately? He seems to have really gone round the bin.
I was surprised when I watched a clip this morning. Russian money, blackmail? He actually seems crazed. It started with his crazy rant about Democrats and Kavanaugh. There seems to be no McCain to calm him down.
And he took Grassleys place on the Judiciary. Republicans may regret that.

(2,260 posts)had enough of this shit yet? The fact that such a large proportion of our citizens either support or at least look the other way as the GangOfPutin runs roughshod over our ideals and indeed, our Country, fills me with sadness that's turning into outright anger. WHEN will enough be enough?

(9,426 posts)these TRAITORS were drowning in Russian money. Now, let's expose them all and do something about it. Little Lindsey has a nerve, swearing on TV, when his bank account is dependent on Russian cash. He is one of the main ones backing up the orange mistake on this asinine wall, too. Encouraging tRump to declare a national emergency. The ONLY "National Emergency" we have is the gop greedy traitors and the Russian money. I hope Robert Mueller exposes the whole group, so we can disinfect the halls of DC, and the WH.

(11,884 posts)trump and putin has gotten so many of them compromised now , it'll be interesting to see the numbers of how many are involved when Mueller lets indictments start flying. It'll be a higher number of them, and they'll be finished the moment they get exposed.

(9,426 posts)the Not-So-Supreme-Court? They do not think BIG money corrupts elections. PUTIN and the other Russians KNOW exactly what works to get crooks into office in this country. Lots of $$$$$. Did Lindsey Graham get his large donation from Russia before or after he "golfed" with the orange ass??

(15,751 posts)Justice Anthony K, personal wealth estimated under $600,000, excluding his home. He appeared healthy at his retirement at 82.
The bad stuff: ak's son key to Deutch bank billion dollar loan to trump [when no US bank would loan to trump, make that no bank not related to putin would loan to trump?]; Anthony K met with trump before announcing his surprise retirement, Vanity Fair said trump make ak an 'offer he couldn't refuse', however, that was allegedly in appointing to SCOTUS a justice who would follow ak's legal legacy. [all this is 'thinly sourced' and ak is still publicly respectable].
The good news: Mueller very, very likely has much information on trump's aforesaid billion dollar questionable Deutch loan engineered by ak's son.

(128,449 posts)it seems that the funneling of Russian money through the NRA was the easiest way to get the infection spread far and wide to the most GOPers, resulting in their being irrevocably compromised because "GOP = NRA". Which makes me wonder what other RW orgs have (or had) similar money funneled through them in the same manner for the same purpose. Since the Kochs apparently sat out (in relative terms) the 2016 election, this seems to have been the next best thing for them to fund-raise.

(15,181 posts)It seems like there is an awful lot of cash and assets if they are based on sales of goods, etc. Would it be possible to print billions of $s in $100 denomination?
Maybe their clever hackers have found a way to play the worldwide banking system (S.W.I.F.T.).
