We're talking a counterintelligence investigation...

That's not your average criminal investigation. This is a thousand times more serious.

As I understand it, there are multiple lawyers and judges involved in these and you can't just start one on a whim or because you don't like someone.

When I think of counterintelligence I think of outright purposefully spying.

4. We don't hear a lot about the CIA and the NSA

They must have some fascinating (and damning) material

6. And signal taps in and out of the country

There's got to be Trump on tape somewhere.
And still wondering about that server in the Trump Tower that was communicating with Russia.

13. Five Eyes. And the Estonians. And the Dutch. Oh..

and let's not forget the NSA. Around 80%, it's estimated, of the electronically derived intelligence data collected by Mueller comes from the NSA. It's reputed that the NSA can track every person's use of every plane flight s/he bought and used. And the NSA likely has iterations of the PROMIS software that tracks anyone's whereabouts and behavior through financial exchanges. This surveillance power illustrates how naive the actors in the Trumpy/Russia affair are. The Cohen-Prague visit is well recorded. Trumpy's visit with Russian officials were all recorded. All of Kislyak's communications were recorded.

have let this go on for so long if there is a clear and present danger?

12. He's been using his pulpit to chip away at their credibility for two years

So I figure that they know they have to have an airtight case.

Also, the timing has to be right. He's had the iron clad support of his base. We know that this is around 40% from the recent polling. But the ground shifted with the November 2018 election. Dems chair the House committees. So now was a good time for the investigation's existence to come to light.

16. Agreed

Timing is going to be everything in this case.

The intel agencies have to stay out of it as much as possible, to protect their methods and sources. Now that we have the House, everything the GOP tried to bury is finally going to see the light of day.

I think the vast majority of Americans are unprepared for what they are about to learn. There is probably evidence out there that will be so unequivocally damning that even 45ís most ardent supporters will be left questioning their votes for him. Yes, I think itís that bad.

Itís going to be very interesting to see how things progress from here. Scary, but interesting.

15. They can not publicize the evidence

Disclosing any of that evidence publicly will hurt their ability to continue collecting more information. It would allow our enemies to know how to better protect themselves against our intel operations, and it would feed into 45ís stupid ďdeep stateĒ narratives.

I share your frustration. I can only imagine how hard it would be to work for one of the intelligence agencies right now. To possess evidence of a danger to our country without the ability to disclose that information would be horribly stressful.

14. Looking at the constant attacks that he waged against the intelligence community

he knew he was the target (if not, the Russians told him)

17. Exactly

He knows that the intel community can bring him down. Unfortunately for him, his attacks probably made them even more determined to collect additional evidence against him.

18. I am not surprised

I donít know if youíve read Seth Abramsonís ďProof of CollusionĒ yet, but 45ís connections to Russia go back decades.

Given what weíve seen just since the 2016 election, including the secret meetings with Russian agents in the White House and the way 45 acts around Putin, itís obvious that something detrimental to the United States is going on here.

Itís nice to read confirmation from the intel community that they know that 45 is a threat.

22. Definitely frightening!

Itís comforting (in a way) to know that the book only contains public information.

If thereís that much public info pointing to 45ís guilt, it should be just a matter of time before this nightmare ends.

That hope is the only thing keeping me going right now.
