Could the Bombshell NYT Article be Connected to the Upcoming Hearing of "Pardon Everyone" Bob Barr?

Barr was AG during the Iran Contra scandal and encouraged president Bush to pardon everyone who was connected with those crimes. Now Barr is looking at being confirmed as AG, again. He will likely give Trump similar advice—pardon everyone. Given his history and bold lobbying directly to Trump for the AG position, would Barr sabotage the Mueller investigation? The answer seems clear.

I think these guys could be guilty of a lot of state-level financial crimes and that the relevant states have already been read in by the OSC. Federal prisons tend to be nicer than state prisons, and a federal pardon would just throw the perps into the waiting arms of not-so-pleasant state facilities.
