Kafka and Trump-22

My understanding is furloughed federal employees, not designated essential, and therefore not at work can apply for other employment. The problem is OPM must OK this new employment and they are not available to do this. If the employee works for an outside source anyway that same employee can be subject to disciplinary action.

Yossarian and Kafka combining for a Trump-22.

Or would they. I think they all in their own way warned us of coming tyranny. Heller with the absurdism of military and corporate culture. Vonngut with our lack of basic human decency and our willful neglact of the planet. And Mailer warned of how our over reliance of technology could lead to tyranny.

We have a situation right now that basically is a combination of each if their warnings.

And I'm leaving out many writers--Joan Dideon, James Baldwin, Hunter Thompson, Alice Walker...
