Sen Hirono on MSNBC just did it correctly, Re: Govt Shutdown

Clearly called out the process when asked by Kasie Hunt (what are Dems doing to end shutdown?), Hirono clearly explained that the bill from the House ALREADY is a compromise, and is what the Repubs approved in December. When queried about a Veto override she said Repubs need to act like a coequal branch of Govt. She then added in this little nice nugget.

Seems like everyone knows the process except for one person. A FUCKING GENIUS LINE! Again, everyone with basic civics knowledge knows this. tRump, the Repukes, and the media are ignoring 250 years of successful history and the Constitution. So what the hell could Kasie say? Hirono set up the response as a slam at tRump AND dared anyone to show their ignorance and take his position. BTW, Kasie moved on to an unrelated question.

Reporters ask a question to give the interviewee an opportunity to get his/her side of the story out. Which is exactly what Ms. Hunt did. The senator let the viewing audience know what was, and is, being done by the Democrats. Mission accomplished. And all of this without Ms. Hunt stooping to the level of Fox News by editorializing her straight-forward question: what are the Democrats doing to end the shutdown?

and say he'll sign a 3 week stop gap funding bill. Which is what the Senate approved in December. That would put us in the position of having to take a short term funding bill or be accused of walking back on what we've been saying.

keep asking and wondering why the Dems are holding out and not giving up something. They are so ignorant. The Dems have been holding strong and I hope they all make it as clear as Mazie did.

Hazy Ku....I mean Kasie Hunt is usually a pretty straightforward reporter. She does try to avoid the appearance of partisanship, but she is not a "lick your boots both sider" like Chuckles on MTP.

No disrespect intended. But sometimes the research is worth the effort - there's a lot of other good information on the senator.

The House bill is already a compromise. But Trump's idea of a compromise is to give him what he wants, with nothing from him in return. Trump keeps saying he's ready to "talk," but just what, if anything, is he offering?

I'm liking Mazie Hirono more and more.

That there is only one winner--

That it's impossible for both sides to win--

He does not understand the word compromise, let alone the actual reality!!
