First Cabinet Member to Buck Trumpski's Shutdown

Thought this was interesting: Sonny Perdue Agriculture Secretary, has told Fox Business that the Shutdown needs to end. A quote taken from Axios puts a point on the matter:

The Farm Service Agency has run out of funding, which has forced Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue to work with the Office of Management and Budget to try getting farmers loans. Subsidies set aside for farmers hit by President Trump's tariffs have been suspended during the shutdown.

As an aside, I was reading just this weekend of the disaster for soybean farmers who have in the past enjoyed export markets in China. Now the price to plant is higher than they're were offered for the harvest, most of which is rotting.

So much winning!

One wonders if Perdue is the first domino.

hearing directly from the farmers and they are far from happy. Despite what Trumpski says--how even those hurt support his ridiculous policies and now this shutdown.

Many are going to face bankruptcy if this doesn't end sooner rather than later.

That Perdue is the break in the dam and others will quickly follow. Too many Americans being hurt because of Trumpski's vanity.

Those farmers are going to enjoy all the benefits federal employees have been basking in. It was great then, right?

They interviewed a woman who complained about the lack of funds for hurricane cleanup/repair and the added burden of the Shutdown. She'd voted for the Trumpster but bemoaned that 'he wasn't hurting the right people.'

That says it all: The crazy destruction and defiance is A-okay as long as you don't hurt . . . me.

Oy!

Because most of them STILL watch FOX, still listen to Rush, and still tell everyone in their community that they support Trump.

The rest of the farmers have nothing but my sympathy.

All they care about is themselves. So although the tariffs threatened to ruin many small businesses, including farmers, the farmers as a group were FINE with tariffs, after they found THEY would be getting a handout from the government. They no longer cared about the tariffs. One said, "The tariff war will make things better in the long run." What do they care? They're getting a subsidy.

How could they not sympathize w/all the businesses that wouldn't be getting subsidies?

Anything to support the Russian Puppet.

I saw a farmer combining his beans onto the ground to clear the land. This was in South Central Michigan.
