Republicans spent two years resisting border wall

By Colby Itkowitz
January 15 at 4:06 PM

... for the first two years of Trump’s presidency, GOP lawmakers avoided the wall debate completely. In September 2017, USA Today took on the laborious task of surveying every member of Congress to determine their position on Trump’s wall. At the time, the White House was requesting $1.6 billion to begin wall construction. The survey found that just 69 of the 292 Republicans in Congress said they supported Trump’s funding request. Three outright opposed it, but the majority avoided answering the question directly ...

The options were either to buck Trump and side with Democrats in rejecting his demand for $5.7 billion or to stand by Trump and allow the government to shut down ...

More Americans oppose building a wall (54 percent) than support it (42 percent), according to a Washington Post-ABC News poll. But when broken down by political party, 87 percent of Republicans support the wall ...

The whole Republican party cowers before Trump's rich bitch Mitch. Putin doesn't even need a leash to control Trump, and Trump doesn't need a leash to control McConnell.

Meanwhile, the gutless GOP continues to bow down in fear in spite of the damage done to its party and with no regard for the suffering they cause to millions.

2020 is coming.
