It is now clear that Trump does not know how to negotiate. He only knows how to bully.

Like all bullies, they are stumped when those they choose to bully stand up to them and fight back.

GO Nancy. Trump should not be allowed to get more free air time to push his bullshit.

The message is: The state of the union is chaotic.

The powerful presidents are skilled politically or were supported by excellent staffs that were skilled politically.

Trump has neither and that's why he is now being exposed as impotent now that the GOP crutch has been removed.

shutdown really shines a spotlight on his total void of understanding of fundamental, basic negotiation principles. He has never done anything but strong arm his contractors and cheat others he has taken advantage of by getting them to invest their time and resources up front and then breaking his promises to them in return, and calling that "leverage". All he does is steal.

But it doesn't work when dealing with Congress and trying to take hostages to get his way.
