I have stated openly on this platform that we need stronger democratic leadership when Nancy was

running for the speakership. I was wrong. the way Nancy is handling her responsibility
makes me proud of her and glad that she is at the helm at this critical time against the most corrupt and insane president
in American history. So Nancy sorry and thank you keep the good work.

As Judge Judy says, there's a reason you have two ears and one mouth. I'm sure there are a few in the House who are watching closely, quietly, behind the scene. Pelosi will know who they are.

I stated multiple times I thought there should be a fight for the job. I said that as someone who backed Pelosi. It is a position that should always come with a fight, IMO.

It is really nice to hear someone who didn't necessarily support her who thinks she is doing a good job today.

strategy. What we are seeing is a fundamental change in our party, a change that has been needed for years, no more cowering in the corner but fight, fight dirty, fight often until the fascists are gone.

the voters. They had been sucked in for decades by the repubs who are masters at marketing. They made liberal and the Democratic Party bad words. The Dems did what they did to survive. So called progressives seem to think what they believe is new. It's not. The Dems have stood for their goals (environment, women's rights, national health care etc.) for a very long time. It's just that the country wasn't there, but they sure are now. It makes me so happy to see the change in the voters.

a lot of folks did not pay attention to who Pelosi is, what she stands for and how she handled the last time she was Speaker. New folks with no experience at a time like this would have been a disaster.

In a prior post, I was critical of something Pelosi and Schumer had done and mentioned that I hoped they had learned from that incident. I was immediately descended upon by the army of Pelosi supporters, equating one criticism of one event to an attack on Pelosi generally, and refusing to admit that Pelosi would ever have made a mistake. But I wasn't attacking Pelosi, of course. I see now, actually, that she did learn from that prior mistake and has seen that Trump will not honor whatever he agrees to on any given day, and is not actually wanting to negotiate; he merely wants his way, or will change depending on which way the wind blows.

I have supported her for speakership all this time because this is a critical time; we need the most experienced people in charge. There is no time for on the job training or big mistakes. There's too much at stake.

But I must admit that she and Schumer have surpassed even what I thought they'd do. They arrived, calm and impeccably dressed, obviously having had numerous meetings and communications between them, well prepared, on the same page, and charging ahead day after day, regardless of the whirlwind around them. The army of Democrats in the House started introducing meaningful bills on Day One, which no doubt Pelosi will do her best to garner votes for, when the time comes.

I like that the Democrats in Congress are behaving in sync with each other in the house. Trump's recent attempt to get the moderates to meet separately with him showed him that the Democrats are speaking with one voice right now, and they are speaking through Pelosi and Schumer.

I was ecstatic and bursting with Democratic Blue pride to see her accept the gavel for her first go 'round. But, I too, had my doubts and desire for new faces in leadership. However, NDP has returned me to her favor. She has proven herself to be a tough, no nonsense negotiator. And, she has the his tiny testicles in her hands with the entire Democratic caucus squeezing them. Schadenfreude tastes sweet in the early morning.

Thanks for being a good person and admitting when you erred.

To be honest, I think lots of us had concerns so you weren't all alone in that.
