I still think Jon Tester would be a hell of a candidate

Now, a lot of you know I was a Martin O'Malley stan until the bitter end in 2016, so I have a Quixotic streak to me. But I really, really think Jon Tester would be an incredibly formidable candidate for President. We've got a deep bench, but I always like to see it get a little deeper.

He has a calm manner of speaking about important issues that makes you want to listen to him. He also chooses moments well when he needs to speak forcefully. That said, he has publicly stated he isn’t sure he has the physical stamina for a presidential run. Maybe that was idle chatter but he isn’t prone to that. I’ve often wondered if he is considering running with all of his public appearances and interviews of late.

Just after the November election and she said the same thing to him. He respectfully declined and it was quite definite. I think he would be a wonderful candidate from a very red state.

It's my best idea at energizing as many Dem base groups as possible (Women, African-Americans, Immigrants) while peeling off a good chunk of President Bullshit's base.

That flattop, the beer gut, and the missing digits will go a long way in Rural America.

And yes, he's the kind of politician, now that he's grown into it, that many should want to emulate but he's not presidential material, he doesn't want it.

And I would rather he stayed in the Senate where he shines. He knows his limits and I am thankful he's more interested in doing the job he has. Besides, he still has a good sized farm that he works himself, doesn't leave time for presidentin'.

Of course, Tester has a real working farm. Not a dude ranch. He'd have to do a lot more than cut brush.

😁

The only reason I know this is that is who I was going to vote for. Didn’t get the chance.

Mfker set up camp in Montana like his favorite Russian hooker or Ivanka lived here. Local TV and newspapers were constantly saturated with his appearances. He wanted Tester out SO BAD because Tester got rid of Dr. Candy Man who said Trump might live to be 200.

Tester won.

the one wear he's standing next to the machine that chewed off his fingers. Is he interested at all in running? That would be interesting.

He's made it clear that he's not interested, and I believe him. But if you're interested in a authentic, progressive politician who bucked the odds in Montana, you should take a long look at Montana Governor Steve Bullock, the very popular two term Democratic governor of one of the reddest states in the country.

Not sure who will rise to the top of those Democrats who choose to throw their hat in the ring for the 2020 Presidential election, but there are a decent number of candidates we should consider before getting too emotionally wrapped up with the early popular candidates such as O'Rourke, Warren, Harris, etc.
