Buzzfeed Obstruction Artice--Don't forget Jason Leopold's prior errors
He brought us the "24 business hours" breaking story of bullshit regarding Fitzgerald's Karl Rove indictment. Which, by the link, looks like DU got sucked into, too.
Until I see something from a real journalist, I'm not going to believe the story because Leopold is a fucking joke.

1. Anthony Cormier, the other reporter on the story,
told CNN this morning that he was the one who did the verifying and repeatedly said this is "100% rock solid."
We will see. |

2. That makes me feel better. I wish Leopold's stink wasn't on this.
I hope it's true. Just don't want to get my hopes up.

4. So Leopold isn't a fucking joke?
Whatever happened to that Rove indictment he 100% guaranteed was coming? Has Rove got out of prison yet?

5. He isn't. You're wrong.
And a large number of people thought Rove would get indicted. He just barely skated by repeatedly revising his remarks. The prosecutor could have indicted him and should have.

7. He said the indictment would happen, 100%, in 24 hours
Then, when that didn't happen, he said he meant "business hours" (which is not a thing). Then he said he was "in front of the news cycle" and that it would happen. As we all know, it didn't.
Yeah, lots of people thought he would be indicted. Leopold was the "journalist" who said he had absolutely credible information it would happen in 24 hours. He has other problems before for that article, too. I want this to be true, but Leopold has a long history of being a joke of a journalist. |

8. Here's another article for you to read about Leopold's "awesome" journalism skills
When Leopold’s story was first called into question a few weeks ago, Salon’s Tim Grieve reminded readers of Leopold’s checkered history with the publication. Salon removed Leopold’s August 29, 2002 story about Enron from its site after it was discovered that he plagiarized parts from the Financial Times and was unable to provide a copy of an email that was critical to the piece. Leopold’s response? A hysterical rant (linked above) which claimed that Salon’s version of events was “nothing but lies,” and that “At this point, I wonder why Salon would go to great lengths to further twist the knife into my back. I suppose the New York Times will now release their version of the events. I can see the headline now ‘Jason Leopold Must Die.’” In other words, people are out to get him, and it’s not his fault.
Fast forward to March 2005, when Leopold’s memoir, Off the Record, was set to be released. In the book, according to Howard Kurtz, Leopold says that he details his own “lying, cheating and backstabbing,” and comes clean about how he got fired from the Los Angeles Times and quit Dow Jones just before they fired him because, as he said, it “Seems I got all of the facts wrong” on a story about Enron. https://archives.cjr.org/politics/jason_leopold_caught_sourceles.php Yeah. Put your support behind this asshole. I'm shocked he even has a job. Even at Buzzfeed. |

9. Agreed. They've even stated they haven't seen the evidence.
Leopold won’t burn me again. I’ll wait for corroborating reports from legitimate journalists.
