relatively richer americans on a progressive scale

have more property to protect with our armed forces, they use the highway more. who can say that the jet set do not fly more? they are more likely to use the court system and their corporations benefit by every brick of infrastructure and every healthy educated employee.

progressive taxation also encourages persons to hire, spend, and donate unto the economy which allowed them to accumulate wealth,

prigressive taxation helps to prevent the great disparity of wealth which allows them to influence the tax code (and every other aspect of the culture) in their favor.

1. Rich people only exist because the society is stable and bountiful

Rich people only exist because the society is there to support them. Rich people benefit more from society, not less. Everyone pays for the TSA, but poor people can't afford airline tickets. Hedge funds can earn people money, but many take millions just to get in, etc. And on and on.

Progressive taxes are taxing people based on the relative benefit they get from society.
