You could fly to Canada or Mexico, and make your way back via ground transportation. Don't count on the Embassies to help you, though. They are shut down, too.

I just heard from a professor who was on a State Department teaching trip. He had to cut the trip short and pay for his own flight back after the US Embassy was closed in Slovenia, where he was.
