There. I fucking said it. It was either that or have an aneurysm, heart attack, constipation, carpal tunnel, muscle spasms in the back, a bad knee flare up, and a gout flare up trying to keep all that bottled in.

(8,200 posts)Fifty years of telling us that liberals are immoral, unpatriotic people that are to be despised has justified our revulsion. The fact is that their leadership consists of scumbags that don't have one ounce of compassion for their fellow mankind. Their leadership has consisted of flagrant criminals. Each Republicans administration has been more corrupt than the last. The enemy is not at the gates, they are dining in the White House and contaminating every office for local to federal. The stench of their corruption is strangling us.

(7,598 posts)I do despise their nastiness, racism, lack of sophistication, sense of superiority, and the fact that they are mostly White. I view it as an embarrassment for our nation and the White race.

(2,595 posts)And I remember a time when not all republicans were racists and many were more moderate in their approach to economics. But somewhere in the era of Reagan, that changed. They began their Southern Strategy and roped in many of the evangelical so-called Christians in the Bible Belt regions and swept in the old remnants of the Dixiecrats from the '60s. They are more than repugnant to me. Their hatred and xenophobia will lead them ignorantly to vote against their own economic self-interests -- over and over again, despite seeing and experiencing what rethuglican economics will do to them -- over and over again. Their racial hatred leads them to become the walking symbols of the definition of crazy: doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result. So, yeah. I hate them.

Republicans are a cancer on the United States and the environment. Also fuck green party voters for letting them stack the supreme court.

(8,445 posts)I do believe, however, that some Republicans really don't put a whole lot of thought into being a Republican. In those cases, I hate that they're apathetic. The stakes are too high. Not paying attention is despicable.
And I have been saying for years that I despise Republicans. I said if I was single, I could never date a Republican. And then my husband voted for trump.
He won't be my husband for much longer.

(51,550 posts)Before that, moneyed interests seeped into the Republican party, giving us Hoover. In the 1960s, the bigots from the South, former Dixiecrats, put the final nail in the soul of the Republican party of Lincoln. Now it is Trump's party, the party of the traitorous rich and their stupid bigot dupes.

(14,490 posts)determine in what tiny ways I can help counteract their destruction to our government, economy, culture and society.
Republicans, the international right-wing and their global big money supporters have us trapped in a vicious cycle that spirals us downward in many, many ways. And, what hurts the most is that they're using our money derived from profits from our purchases of goods and services to do it. They've accumulated enough resources to keep this gradual downward cycle going for a very long time.
Although as a scientific-type it's helped me to try and understand their deranged primitive psyche, it's depressing to know that so long as we have the global political structures we live under now, it really won't get better long-term. Until we solve the massive global economic, racial and human rights inequality issues, I fear we're stuck under the thumbs of a handful of psychopathic plutocrats.
Thank goodness for American Democrats. We're one of the few positive shining lights around the world........
