When seconds count, the cops are minutes away

or longer, if there are too many brown people or Occupyers that need to be beaten to entertain the 1%.

The woman in this story died because the cops took TWO DAYS to respond to her 911 call. TWO DAMNED DAYS. Supposedly these fucking cops have the ability to track cell phones when they want to go after people they don't like - why didn't they avail themselves of this ability now?

What a fucking tragedy. You betcha if someone threatened a Plutocrat they'd have that cell phone's location, lickety split.

Please tell me again how useful the police are?

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/woman-murder-911-dallas-police-two-days-151010771.html

Police in Dallas are conducting an internal investigation after discovering that a 32-year-old woman who was found murdered on Sunday had called 911 two days before.

The woman, Deanna (Cook) Patrick, was "found deceased in the bathtub of her residence," police said. Delvecchio Patrick, her 35-year-old ex-husband, was arrested and charged with murder.

The department "is currently conducting a comprehensive review of an August 17, 2012 911 call from the victim," the Dallas Police Department wrote on its Facebook page on Monday:

I was evicted from my home because my now ex-wife was afraid, reporting that I made "too much noise" coming down the stairs....

And it wasn't even a 911 call.

I'm still pissed about that but, all things being equal, that was a better outcome than what happened to this poor woman.

My heart grieves for her, and I only wish Dallas police were half as attentive to her as the police were to my ex's unfounded fears.

....every single 911 call that has ever been placed to them by someone not, as you say, a "Plutocrat"?

Seriously, your post reeks of your usual cop hatred (go ahead....alert....then check the history of this poster....advocates massive cuts in tea party fashion of a government agency). Clearly there was a fuck up, but you can't even be honest about the fact that they did respond to an address.....but it WAS a fuck up either way so of course you want to talk about it. Meanwhile, there have been thousands upon thousands of people whose lives have been saved by police, and all you want to do is shit on every single one of them with your statement "Please tell me again how useful the police are?". Why don't you go ask someone whose had their life saved by one? Why don't you post all the stories of police responding to domestics and assaults where they arrested a man who was beating his wife....nope, not in you agenda.....YOU DON'T CARE.....Yup, let's eliminate the police....then no one die of domestic violence ever again. Sounds logical to me.

America's system of law enforcement is rotten to its core, it needs a level of reform so fundamental that it wouldn't even be recognizeable compared to what it is now.

So yeah, go look up my past posts. I stand by what I say.

And exactly what rule have I broken that qualifies for an alert? Now you're just trying to bully me into silence. That ain't gonna work.

And yes, I misread your alerting comment because there is no rational reason why someone would alert on you. Kinda hard to do that when I'm on the floor laughing at someone who doesn't realize that Teabaggers love the police when they're guarding the Plutocrats and beating the fuck out of peaceful protesters, and especially when they're harassing, arresting, anally probing or outright gunning down minorities for the fuck of it.

My message was the exact opposite, in fact. BROWN people often have a problem with cops, and for a good reason.

Do I need to cite all the incidents of racial profiling that these pig cops engage in?

I won't even bother asking you to substantiate your claim that I have a problem with brown people. The word 'canard' is written all over your post.

When they finally showed up, I was standing guard at the front door of the house with my rifle while my dad was tearing the hoses and wires out of my mom's car so she couldn't escape, and my 14-yr old sister was holding an ice pack on my mom's bruises.

They also refused to arrest my dad, saying it was his word against ours

Lemme guess....you got busted for a little weed or boozy driving once and now you're soooooo against the man.

I'd introduce you to good friend of mine whose boyfriend held her and her mother hostage in their home for eight fucking hours while the police had to talk him down to get her and mom out of there safely (which they did). She's no plutocrat either, but she thanks the cops to this day for the way they handled it. I know you don't give a rat's ass because it doesn't fit your skewed world, so I'll drop it there.

Yet another attempt by you to silence opinions you don't like. Sorry, that didn't work either.

Why don't YOU try talking to all the minorities who have been stopped and arrested, strip searched and unjustly imprisoned by these pig cops. Or talk to the relatives of those who've been shot dead by the cops for no good reason.

Go ahead, try it. Since you're issuing all these "talk to" challenges.

The same district Michelle Batshit-Crazy Bachmann represents, if that tells you anything about the people that live there.

The problem was that my 14-yr old sister hit my dad across the back of the head with a coffee cup to get him off my mom when he started choking her, so when the cops showed up my dad pointed to the lump on his head and claimed my mom hit him first and her bruises were from him acting in self-defense. The police told my mom that if she pressed charges, my dad would also press charges, and they'd both be spending the night in jail. My brother, sister, and myself were screaming at the two officers about what really happened, literally in tears, and they ignored us completely. My mom was so scared of leaving us alone and going to jail that she declined to press charges. Instead, we packed up a few clothes (into garbage bags no less, no time to break out the luggage) and spent a few weeks at Grandma's. The police were actually bitching about how long it was taking us, saying they didn't have all day to babysit while we packed.

That was my first encounter with police, and it's an understatement to say it left me pretty jaded towards law enforcement.

...but that's how the laws are written now...they don't want the cops making the judgements (and apparently, if you listen to people like Zanax they shouldn't because they are all pigs)...and facing wrongful arrest charges...so they arrest both parties. As far as bitching about taking so long to pack, well that just sucks and can be typical of old school rural cops. I just think people don't realize the situations cops are called to deal with....crying kids, witnessing abuse in the home, it's not easy and a lot of police are wrong in how they deal with things trying to exercise the Solomon philosophy of splitting the baby.....but the shitting all over them....some people should go do their job for a day...they wouldn't last.

At least not in my state, I know this because my daughter had an incident with her ex where he was trying to beat out the windows of her car with her and the kids inside..

Even though her ex was a friend to most of the cops and had actually called the cops in the first place claiming she tried to run over him with the car they carefully questioned the kids separately and determined that it was my daughter's ex who was actually the instigator and they arrested him, my daughter was not arrested.

He was stunned that his friends didn't arrest her and did arrest him..

in California the agressor does go to jail, and from the story, DAD, not MOM would have gone to jail. The cops, as chasing the radio as they are, would have also directed the woman to the nearby shelter that NOT EVEN THEM know where it is. IN other words, they would have called a shelter volunteer.

The type of treatment people get from police heavily depends on their social and economic status. Police routinely commit abuse and are not held accountable. Militarization of the police is a threat to civil society, human rights, and democracy. We need major reforms of the whole law enforcement system to get the police under control.

I don't know about the story from the orginal post about that Dallas 911 call, not clicking through to read it.

Not all cops are bad but the system itself is broken and needs fixing. Police need to be held accountable and held to higher standards.
