"I'm proud to be an American...

where at least I know I'm free."

I HATE THIS FUCKING SONG.

It is so out of touch with humanity.

1. Is there someplace you'd rather be?

Some place you could be more in touch with humanity?

I'm proud to be an American. Always have been. No one can take that away from me.

2. I hate it too

And never pass up the chance to say so. One day I'll sit down and write a parody that goes something like this:

And I'm proud to be an American
Or at least I used to be
And I won't forgive the man who lied
And gave a fright to me...

4. I'm proud to be an American. And hate that song.

Although the song itself is rather innocuous. But it has been associated with the worst in the country. As a free thinker the god thing does nothing for me, but it is not hateful or anything.

We have done some really shitty things and some really good things. Many by accident!

But one thing no one one should ever think; that we are inherently better than others. And that is what the song has come to symbolize.

6. An anthem for the Freedom Fries Caucus or the Fruit Loops Caucus if you prefer...

Distinctly reminds me of three unwarranted wars and the desire to remake the world into a place safe for extractive exploitation of all types.

I also associate it with the public shaming of anyone that opposed the war...f*cking disgraceful.

8. A man asked me if I knew who Lee Greenwood was and I told him I thought the name

sounded familiar. Then he asked me if I wanted a free ticket to the Lee Greenwood show. I told him no.

I realized later that the short bearded man was in fact Lee Greenwood. Sorry but nobody wants to go to your show even for free!
