.@IlhanMN tweets were a disgrace & her apology was inadequate. Anti-Semitism has no place in the United States Congress, much less the Foreign Affairs Committee. Those who engage in anti-Semitic tropes should not just be denounced, they should face consequences for their words.

is a farce when applied only to Jewish people since it encompasses many languages (by the original German definition), as well as numerous religions (by a second line of definition).

From what I'm reading, the Somali people would be Semitic because they are almost all Muslim by religion and speak either Somali (an Afro-Asiatic language) or Arabic, both of which are Semitic languages.

Semitic religions most commonly refers to the Abrahamic religions, including Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Therefore, Pence really has his head up his ass because he himself is (via self-declared Christianity) Semitic.

I'm seeing no references to Semitic applying to any particular nationality, race or culture. Any of those connections are purely coincidental.

In fact, that really makes most all anti-Semitic arguments a farce unless one wants to be against most of the world's population!
