If a president is sent to jail does he still get secret service protection?

Just wishing it will soon come up as an issue.

2. He would probably be kept away from General population

and Iíll bet he gets a comfy country club, white collar penitentiary with no violent inmates.

3. Honestly, yes I think he should.

Becoming a felon doesn't make someone not a former president. SS protection should be non-negotiable for any former president, even a treasonous one.

To me, it's a matter of precedent.

9. He would be settting the precedent

Right? I don't think we've ever had a President go to prison before.

6. Best question I've read on

DU in a long time!

I don't know the answer - but it would be something new that had never been considered before!

And here I was wondering if he would get a 'state' funeral like papa bush just had. Hmmm . . .

8. He won't do federal jail time - he will be pardoned by the incoming almost certainly.

The only way I see him in jail is if he gets prosecuted by a state court and only then for something exceptionally serious.

Our best chance of ousting Trump early is to indict Jr for his crimes and use that as leverage to force a resignation.

Iím curious if the State is New York will indict Trump and announce their indictment prior to him leaving office - what would he do?

10. I hope so. I would like to see him spend every day in prison he's sentenced to, but like others who

hold the keys to national security I doubt he'll ever go to jail. POTUS' know way too much to ever be jailed, and you know Trump would spill the beans to the first inmate he met named Vlad.
