(4,484 posts)Becoming a felon doesn't make someone not a former president. SS protection should be non-negotiable for any former president, even a treasonous one.
To me, it's a matter of precedent.

And here I was wondering if he would get a 'state' funeral like papa bush just had. Hmmm . . .

(4,131 posts)The only way I see him in jail is if he gets prosecuted by a state court and only then for something exceptionally serious.
Our best chance of ousting Trump early is to indict Jr for his crimes and use that as leverage to force a resignation.
Im curious if the State is New York will indict Trump and announce their indictment prior to him leaving office - what would he do?

(9,461 posts)hold the keys to national security I doubt he'll ever go to jail. POTUS' know way too much to ever be jailed, and you know Trump would spill the beans to the first inmate he met named Vlad.
