Ann Romney speech bumped for re-runs on three networks

Re-Runs of Castle, Hawaii Five-O, and a new Grimm will be played so they can have some viewer revenue.........LOL

The RNC's plan to create a Romney "bookend effect" at next week's convention, with Ann speaking on Monday night to assure voters that the man accepting the nomination on Thursday isn't a robot, may be foiled by the major network's commitment to airing programs people will actually watch. The New York Times reports that NBC, CBS, and ABC don't intend to air any of the Republican National Convention on Monday night, with reruns of Castle, Hawaii Five-O, and a new Grimm trumping Ann's speech. Though it seems that the party should have known weeks ago that the networks wouldn't broadcast four full days of prime-time convention coverage, the Romney campaign was fuming. “I don’t think it’s the decision that Bill Paley would have made,” quipped a senior Romney adviser, underscoring the need for Ann to paint her husband as a guy people born after 1957 can relate to.

Hey y'all, that's the Free Market at work.

They need a show that somebody is going to watch. Deal with it.

It is nothing short of despicable that corporations to whom we literally give a license to broadcast won't cover four nights of political conventions every four years. For shame.

focus grouped her and found that she is just poison to the general public. She only reinforces people's already negative view of Mitt.

A poorly disguised excuse not to have her speech get the GOP is WORSE shape than it is now...

Poor Ann, nobody likes you! Go away!

Bumped for reruns? really? I don't think so. The advertising money is going to be going to the convention, not reruns.

Something smells off in this entire situation. I'm inclined to think they'd offered her the spot before the internals were in on how poorly she polls with "those people." Now, they're trying to limit her exposure before any more damage is done.

Just a guess, but one I'm feeling more and more confident in.
