(56,844 posts)just curious, as I'm not familiar with the history of Cohen testifying the first time

(2,554 posts)with Trump and his testimony was false. Its more evidence that he was instructed to lie by Trump, or that Trump was at least aware that Cohen was lying for him. The POTUS instructing people to lie to Congress would be a crime.

(4,959 posts)apparently participating in directing Cohen to lie before Congress. Plus the fact that Trump and Sekulow are apparently guilty of conspiracy in doing so.
Have we known before this that Sekulow might be guilty of this or other felonies?

(37,648 posts)was about the timing of the Moscow hotel project. I assume that meant that Sekulow had him say that it ended a long time before it really did.

(37,648 posts)That's one of the reasons he's going to prison.
He had said in court, after he decided to truth-tell to get his sentence reduced, that the White House was fully aware of what his testimony was going to be...referring to lies about Trump or his campaign and Russians.
This shows it to be likely that Trump personally knew what Cohen's testimony was going to be (his lies he planned to tell), or even that Trump told him to say those lies.
If it can be shown that Trump knew, or told him to lie, that's illegal and I think an impeachable offense. It's a felony to lie to Congress.
