From Trump’s 2018 State of the Union:

Otto Warmbier was a hardworking student at the University of Virginia. On his way to study abroad in Asia, Otto joined a tour to North Korea. At its conclusion, this wonderful young man was arrested and charged with crimes against the state. After a shameful trial, the dictatorship sentenced Otto to 15 years of hard labor, before returning him to America last June — horribly injured and on the verge of death. He passed away just days after his return.

Otto’s Parents, Fred and Cindy Warmbier, are with us tonight — along with Otto’s brother and sister, Austin and Greta. You are powerful witnesses to a menace that threatens our world, and your strength inspires us all. Tonight, we pledge to honor Otto’s memory with American resolve.

Shows how much contempt he has for others life, or this country. He's done this numerous times with evil murderous dictators around the world. Trump and the gop taking the side of murderers and corrupt criminals over Americans is the opposite of making America great again, its making us the bad guys now for allowing this to happen, over and over again , and trump says nothing other than he believe's these criminals. That what other criminals do, stand up for each other.

But, they were likely conservative to begin with. The liberals that I know teach their kids to respect other people's culture, even if that culture is a bit strange, if the kids feel uncomfortable, they are taught to leave without causing a scene.

Yes, their pain is real, but I seriously doubt if they have had one second of self reflection about what they stand for as human beings and how they raised their son. Sorry if that sounds cold, but some things are what they are and people throw off indications as to what they are as people. Should their son be dead, absolutely not, but his thoughtlessness put him in the situation that he ended up in.

about how he came to be in NK, and was arrested and so on.

I am curious whether the Warmbiers would still vote for trump and if they still keep their tvs tuned to fox.

it's just i lost my daughter. horribly, but not this horribly. her death was not adjudicated justly, not this unjustly. i recall too well the pain of the loss and the added pain of the injustice. now trump has thrown them over, obviously as always entirely bereft of any compassion or empathy whatsoever, so he can kiss the ass of a murderous dictator, the same one who murdered their son. i feel for them.

Not worth him being killed for doing, but when a person is in a country, in particular a regressive country, caution is well advised. A guy like Kim likely has brutal thugs from his elbow to the lowest jailer, so an insult to dear leader, like taking his image, can spin out of control, like it did.

Their precious snowflake son went to North Fucking Korea of his own choice, for shits and giggles. He gave money to them that supports the North Korean dictatorship. He wasn't even going for humanitarian reasons, just to see the sights. Of course he didn't deserve what he got. But, where were these parents when their son told them that he wanted to travel to North Korea?

In the other thread, or yours here.

Otto was an adult, went into NK for "fun," a country we are still legally at war with, and his money given to probably the worst regime in hundreds and hundreds of years. He did something sketchy, he was used in a show trial, and then probably tried to kill himself. That si the tragedy, because they do not mistreat westerners, and he would have been held in a decent place, even probably the hotel he was staying at, and released within a few years. If he hadn't of went into a coma, Obama and Bill Richardson, with Sweden's help, probably would have been able to bring him home.

His parents praised Trump, attacked Obama, and lied about what had been done to their son, and refused an autopsy.

Their son's death is a tragedy, but he had ownership in his death, and his parents kinda suck.

Have you seen what his father said about his son after he came back in a coma in a PVS? It is pretty disgusting. He didn everything but call Otto a thing.
