Why aren't we calling the Republican Party the "Republic Party"?

They started insulting us years ago by saying the "Democrat Party". Now, I even hear some Democrats saying the same thing! Why must we accept an insulting term used by Republicans and not call them "The Republic Party"? I know, I know we're above it all, but really; "I'm mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it anymore".!

It bothers me when both sides use them. To me, you're not morally superior to someone if you're flinging childish nicknames at them like they do to you. It's immature imo. It's the classic, never mud wrestle with a pig, idiom. You both get dirty, and the pig likes it.

It does make me mad that Republicans intentionally say the name of our party wrong. They are pretty ridiculous people, like bully children. I don't want to resort to silly name calling. It doesn't mean that I will not describe them or there actions in terms that are harsh. It just means that I do not think that calling them things I have seen like "Rethuglicans", "Repukes", etc... are particularly effective. It is a personal choice for me. If other people feel like they need to do that for themselves, more power to them. I won't participate.

Our base would find "Republic Party" petty and dumb.

I know they're trying to insult the Democratic Party, but to me it kinda blew back on them. As soon as someone uses the term 'Democrat Party' whatever credibility they might have had is gone. Their words are not better than silence.

Over a playground level insult?

If a person says Democrat party, I don't react and just correct them once. If they continue to say it wrong I know they are trying to make me upset and/or lacking the intelligence to use correct terminology. I won't give satisfaction to the former and pity the latter.

At least since the 70s. Strong democrats I grew up with called it the Democrat party. Most of them don't have college degrees; some dropped out of high school (or even grade school) because they were needed to take are of their families. This fixation on proper grammer is an elitism that alienates solid democrats like the ones I grew up with who just don't give a damn about whether it is a noun or an adjective.

Beyond that, this is a silly fight that is akin to one sibling using the other's comb, jacket, gloves, etc. because he knows it will get a rise out of her.

Which is what that would do, as it's not satire, clever, or humor; but rather meant to be taken and judged on its own merit (that is, none).

Let the neck-beards illustrate their own lack of character; and further, let them excuse it as something other than what it's not... they require that particular self-justification to maintain the fictional pretense that they can in fact, think rationally.

Bless their little idiot hearts. All they want is their duly earned thirty pieces of silver.
